It regulates your de‑icer so it only runs when both the preset timer period and the thermostat threshold are satisfied. The device won’t power the de‑icer until the ambient air temperature drops to the thermostat setpoint and the active time window is reached.

The thermostat dial setting covers roughly 0‑40°F (for the C‑20) according to the product page. For the timer, you program segments (via “trippers”) to define ON periods, ideally in 1‑hour blocks minimum.

Mount upright on a vertical surface, out of direct sunlight (to avoid false readings), above potential flood level. Allow slack in the power cord and ensure the unit isn’t mounted too low or in direct sun.
