FAQ

FAQs

How stable are the docks when walking or standing on them?

Wave Armor docks use roto-molded floats with a wide base, offering excellent stability even with multiple people walking or standing. They're more stable than traditional barrel-style floats. For example, each 5’ x 10’ section of dock offers up to 3000 pounds of buoyancy.

Can I install the system myself or do I need a professional?

Many homeowners install it themselves using the h-block dock connectors and post attachment kits. Larger or commercial setups may benefit from professional help.

How do these docks hold up during freezing temperatures or winter ice?

They're durable, but it’s recommended to remove or reposition them during ice season in northern climates–especially where there have been reports of ice-jacking. Ice expansion can damage floats or connectors and if they incur damage from the ice, they are not covered under warranty.

What kind of anchoring system is required?

Most people use 2” schedule 40 galvanized pipes and drive them into the ground. The rule of thumb is 3’ into the hard bottom and provide 3’ of margin on the top of your dock for water changes. Most people find that a 10’ length is adequate for lake use. Longer lengths will likely be required in river use. You can also use augered poles or stiff-arms, depending on water depth and bottom type. Anchoring recommendations vary by shoreline conditions.

Can I attach a boat lift or PWC port to this dock system?

Yes. Wave Armor docks integrate with compatible PWC ports and boat lifts, including Wave Port models, using built-in mounting channels.

Are the surfaces non-slip when wet?

Yes. The textured pebble beach surface is slip-resistant to reduce falls, even when wet from rain or waves.

Can I expand the dock later without replacing existing parts?

Yes. The totally modular design allows you to add dock sections, corners, or accessories at any time without disassembly.

Is it safe for kids and pets to use?

Absolutely. The smooth, snag-free edges and low-profile design make it safe for barefoot traffic, kids, and pets.

What’s the typical lifespan of the dock material?

With proper care, these docks can last 20+ years. They're UV-protected and resistant to fading, cracking, or rot. Wave Armor Dock Systems come with a 10-year limited warranty.

Does it support power or water hookups for boats or lighting?

Optional accessories include utility channels that allow for low-voltage lighting or water lines, but these require additional planning and parts.
