FAQs
The 3‑fixture kit is recommended for fountain motors sized roughly ½‑1 HP, while the 6‑fixture kit is built for larger motors (2‑7.5 HP).
Two main options:
- Composite housing: lightweight, corrosion‑resistant.
- Stainless steel housing: more heavy‑duty, ideal for rougher environments.
Standard kits include white plus colored lenses (blue, amber, red, green). The RGB (color‑changing) kits enable remote‑controlled color change, brightness settings and sequencing modes.
Yes — you’ll need to account for the extra current draw of the lights. For example, 11‑watt fixtures are found in the composite units, versus heavier 19‑watt fixtures that are found in the stainless units.
The kits are designed to be compatible with existing fountains (especially Kasco J and VFX series) as well as new installs.
Choose based on: motor size (HP), water depth (ensure that the float and fixture fit safely and securely), and that you’re satisfied with the visual effects of that light package. For example, smaller motors = 3‑fixture; larger motors = 6‑fixture.
Yes—regular inspection is needed to ensure lens housing remains sealed, cords remain intact, and mounting hardware hasn’t corroded. Since they’re underwater (or splash zone), durability is key. The page notes high durability in the composite housing design.
Yes, but you’ll want to ensure the fixtures are rated for your environment. Although they are well built for colder climates, they are not designed to be used in freezing temperatures.
With the RGB kit, you get full color-changing capabilities, brightness control, multiple sequencing modes, and a wireless remote—perfect for creating a nighttime focal point or adding lighting designed purely for entertainment and enjoyment.
- Ensure your fountain float or mount is stable and level.
- Place lights to optimize lens visibility (avoid direct sunlight reflecting).
- Secure cords and connectors (especially where they exit the water).
- Choose lens color(s) that complement your property lighting.
- Consider the spacing and angle of your lights to avoid glare into neighboring homes.

Buying Considerations for Irrigation Pumps
When selecting an irrigation pump, consider several key factors to ensure you choose the right model for your needs. Evaluate the pump's flow rate (gallons per minute) and pressure (PSI) to match your irrigation system's requirements. Think about the distance and elevation water needs to be moved, as this impacts pump performance. Also, consider the water source – whether it's a shallow pond or a deeper lake – to determine if you need a self-priming or submersible pump.
Frequently Asked Questions
What type of irrigation pump is best for a lake?
For drawing water from a lake, a powerful centrifugal pump or a submersible pump is often recommended. Centrifugal pumps are excellent for high flow rates, while submersible pumps are ideal for deeper water sources and quieter operation.
How do I determine the right pump size for my property?
To determine the correct pump size, you need to calculate the total dynamic head (TDH) and the required flow rate for your irrigation system. This involves considering factors like elevation, friction loss in pipes, and the water volume needed for your sprinklers or drip lines.
Can these pumps be used for agricultural irrigation?
Yes, many of our irrigation pumps are suitable for agricultural use, capable of handling larger volumes of water for crops and fields. Look for models with higher GPM ratings and durable construction for demanding agricultural applications.
