FAQ

FAQs

What exactly is GreenClean Pro and how does it work?

This is a sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate-based granular algaecide/fungicide that oxidizes algae on contact, producing oxygen and harmless byproducts, making it safer than copper sulfate option.

How quickly will I see results after application?

Action begins within 60 seconds—you’ll see bubbling and bleaching, with algae and cyanobacteria dying off in 24–48 hours.

What application rates should I use?

For heavy blooms: 20–90 lb per acre-foot. For light growth: 2–9 lb per acre-foot. Spot treatments use 20–50 lb per acre-foot.

Is it safe for fish, livestock, and irrigation?

Yes—it’s safe for koi, trout, livestock, and crop irrigation and no usage restrictions post-treatment.

How should I apply it?

Broadcast evenly from shore or boat using a spreader or by hand (with gloves). Break up large mats first. Post-application, skim the surface dead algae to prevent nutrient recycling

Will it leave harmful residues?

No—it fully degrades into water and oxygen within about an hour and won’t accumulate in sediment.

Do I need to run aeration during treatment?

Yes—operating aeration helps disperse the granules into deeper water, especially in larger water bodies.

How often can I reapply?

Allow at least 48 hours between treatments. For maintenance, apply monthly during warm months or before freeze to prevent Winter algae buildup.

What bottom types or algae types is it effective on?

Effective on planktonic blooms, filamentous mats, submerged slime algae, and cyanobacteria. Suitable for ponds, lakes, irrigation systems, and fountains.

What protective gear do I need?

Wear gloves and avoid inhalation or direct skin contact. The EPA label does not require extensive PPE beyond basic precautions.
