FAQ

FAQs

Will the Quick Spade work with both pallet forks and bucket forks?

Yes, it's compatible with standard pallet forks on most skid steers, compact tractors, and forklifts. It slides over the forks and secures with chains.

How does this attach to my machine—does it require hydraulic hookups?

No hydraulic connections are required. It attaches by sliding onto the forks and securing it with chains or binders.

What's the digging depth or capacity of the spade?

The spade extends roughly 24 inches forward, with a width of 25 inches at the edge. It's suitable for scooping gravel, mulch, snow, sand, and even digging out small stumps or roots.

Can it be used to dig holes or trenches?

It’s not a trencher or auger, but you can use it to scoop shallow trenches, dig planting holes, or create swales with precision by lifting and tilting.

What’s the weight of the attachment? Can a compact tractor handle it?

It weighs around 41 pounds. Most compact tractors and mid-size loaders with standard pallet forks can support it without issue.

Does this spade attachment damage the fork tines?

No, it’s designed to sit securely over the tines and distribute the force evenly. Just make sure your forks are not already bent or damaged.

Can I use this to break through compacted soil or clay?

It works best in softer or moderately compacted soils. For hard clay or rocky soil, some buyers prefer to pre-loosen the ground before using the Quick Spade.

Is this a better alternative than a bucket for landscaping?

It depends. Buckets are better for fine scooping or spreading. The Quick Spade excels at cutting through sod, lifting stumps, moving debris, or digging narrow holes—tasks where a bucket may be too wide or blunt.

How is it stored when not in use?

It can be stored upright in a garage or barn by placing it on a pallet or hanging it from its frame. Make sure to store it out of the weather to prevent rust.

Do I need any tools for installation?

Only basic hand tools are needed to tighten or adjust the chains. No drilling or modifications to your equipment are required.

The quick spade was easy to attach and I don't think I would even need the strap to keep it from coming off. After using it for awhile to dig holes and move trees I had to use a hammer to knock it loose so I could use the pallet forks to unload a pa

Nice heavy metal construction and worked well for me with my 33 horse tractor. The quick spade was easy to attach and I don't think I would even need the strap to keep it from coming off.
