FAQs
The kit includes a 40‑gallon heavy‑duty PVC filter tank with replaceable matting, an adjustable height aluminum stand (5″–12″ height adjustment) for stability, a 2″ threaded check valve, and a suction hose (10‑ft intake length in this version) with quick‑connects or you can upgrade to a 33-ft intake length.
The 40‑gallon filter is rated for roughly 40 gallons per minute (GPM) under typical clear‑water conditions.
The adjustable stand allows you to position the filter from about 5″ to 12″ above the bottom. That helps avoid sediment buildup and makes removal easier.
The check valve prevents backflow and helps the pump stay primed when it’s off. It should be installed on the suction line immediately following the filter.
Yes—but be mindful. Suction hose length, vertical lift, and hose diameter all impact pump performance. The included hose is 10 ft for this model; if you have a longer run or significant elevation change, choose your upgrade accordingly.
Periodically lift the filter off the stand, rinse or replace the filter matting to remove trapped debris (algae, leaves, sediment). Inspect the check valve and quick‑connects for leaks. Minimal service is required if set up properly.
Yes—the filter matting captures and holds small debris, reducing pump wear and the risk of clogging sprinkler heads or irrigation lines. This is especially useful when pulling from lake or pond sources.
A: The aluminum stand has a wide footprint and includes a sandbag for anchoring in areas with strong water movement. That helps keep the filter stable and prevents tipping or shifting.
For many setups yes—but if your suction point is a greater distance from the pump, or if you need to reach deeper or across more open water, the 33‑ft version may be preferable. We offer both solutions for your convenience.
- Place the filter stand on a stable base near the water’s edge with the filter tank positioned upright.
- Attach the suction hose to the filter and connect the check valve between filter, hose, and pump.
- Adjust stand height so the filter inlet is just off the bottom (5″–12″).
- Secure suction hose with quick‑connects and prime the pump.
- Ensure that there are no air leaks in suction line, maintain hose in a straight path, and monitor performance after start‑up.
