FAQs

FAQs

What active ingredient does Aquathol Super K use, and how concentrated is it?

It contains 63% dipotassium salt of endothall, making it a highly concentrated granular form of Aquathol K—ideal for treating submerged weeds in lakes and ponds

Which aquatic weeds is Aquathol Super K most effective against?

Excellent for hydrilla, Eurasian watermilfoil, curly leaf pondweed, plus other invasive submerged weeds and algae—it starts working on contact and deeply suppresses plant regrowth.

When is the best time to apply Aquathol Super K?

Early season use is ideal—treat when water temperatures are between 55–60 °F, before weed growth peaks. It works well in quiescent or slow-moving water.

How much area does one bag treat?

A 10 lb bag treats ~12,000 ft², while a 20 lb bag treats ~30,000 ft² (depending on depth and infestation density).

How should I apply the herbicide granules?

Many people use the Spreader Attachment for Leaf Blowers that we offer (if they have a compatible model) - Otherwise a hand held cyclone spreader or hand scoop will work.

How soon will I see results?

Initial signs appear in 3 days, with full plant die-off typically occurring within 3–4 weeks—optimal timing depends on weed species and water conditions.

Are there any water use restrictions after treatment with Aquathol Super K?

Generally, no—it's EPA-approved with 0-day re-entry for swimming, fishing, and irrigation. Be sure to avoid use in potable intake zones and follow label guidelines.

Is Aquathol Super K safe for fish and wildlife?

Aquathol Super K is not generally considered safe for fish and wildlife when used improperly, but it can be used safely when following label instructions. It is labeled as toxic to fish and wildlife. However, when used at the recommended dosages and application rates, it is generally considered safe for fish and other aquatic life.

Can I retreat areas during the season?

A second application may be applied 30+ days later if weeds reappear. Treat in sections to prevent oxygen depletion from decomposing plants.
