Why Protect the Cord?

Your AquaThruster™ Cord Lives in a Tough Environment

Power cords around lakefront equipment can repeatedly contact rock, sand, sharp debris, dock framing and other abrasive surfaces. Protective Cord Wrap adds a replaceable layer between those surfaces and the AquaThruster power-cord jacket.

01

Rock & Sand

Helps shield the cord from repetitive rubbing against rocky lake bottoms, sand and rough shoreline surfaces.

02

Dock Edges

Adds abrasion protection where AquaThruster™ power cords pass around dock framing, corners and other contact points.

03

Sharp Debris

Provides another layer between the cord jacket and sticks, sharp objects, critters and other shoreline hazards.

04

Sun Exposure

UV-resistant braided construction is designed for repeated seasonal exposure around waterfront installations.

05

Oscillator Movement

Flexible construction follows the movement and tight turns of a 360 oscillator without the stiffness of rigid piping.

06

Routine Inspection

The split sleeve can be reopened when you want to visually inspect or access the protected cord.

Split-Sleeve Design

Install Protection Around the Cord You Already Have

The Cord Wrap opens laterally and closes around the AquaThruster™ power cord, eliminating the need to feed the full cable through a closed protective tube.

No Plug Modification

The wrap installs around the existing cable, so factory cord ends do not need to be removed or altered.

No Long Cable Feed

You do not have to push 50, 100, 150 or 200 feet of cord through a rigid protective sleeve.

No Extra Closures

The split construction is designed to close around the cable without messy tape, hook-and-loop or separate fasteners along the entire cord.

Easy to Reopen

Open the wrap again when a cable needs to be inspected, accessed or maintained.

Designed for Moving Cords

Flexible Enough for a 360° AquaThruster™ Oscillator

Rigid pipe can restrict cable movement or create difficult bends around a moving oscillator. Protective Cord Wrap uses a lightweight, semi-rigid PET braid that can follow tighter turns without choking the power cord.

The 25% edge overlap helps the wrap remain closed as the cable bends around oscillator movement, inline splices and connectors.

Protect the cable without turning it rigid.

The goal is to add abrasion resistance while allowing the power cord to continue moving naturally with the AquaThruster™ system.

Choose the correct cord type and length.

Select the Cord Wrap option that matches whether you are protecting an AquaThruster™ motor cord or oscillator cord and the corresponding cord length.

Complete Cord Protection & Management

Pair Protective Cord Wrap With MagnaClips

Protective Cord Wrap and MagnaClips solve two different AquaThruster™ cord problems and can be used together.

Protect

Protective Cord Wrap

Protects the cable itself from abrasion, rock, sand, dock edges, sharp debris and other environmental wear.

Organize

MagnaClips

Magnetic cord holders help organize and route compatible AquaThruster™ cords along dock framing after the cable has been protected.

A cleaner AquaThruster™ cord setup.

Use Cord Wrap where the cable needs abrasion protection, then use MagnaClips along compatible dock framing to keep the protected cord organized and less exposed around walking areas.

AquaThruster™ Cord Protection

Protect the Power Cord Before Shoreline Wear Becomes Damage

AquaThruster™ Protective Cord Wrap adds a durable, flexible barrier around motor and oscillator power cords while preserving the movement and accessibility needed for waterfront equipment.

Choose the wrap option that matches your AquaThruster™ cord type and length, install it around the existing cable and give your power cord an added layer of protection against demanding shoreline conditions.

Compatibility & Sizing

Choose the Correct Wrap

Match the Cord Wrap to Your AquaThruster™ Cable

Select the option that corresponds to both the AquaThruster™ component and the length of the cord you want to protect.

Motor

AquaThruster™ Motor Cord

Choose a motor-cord wrap option when protecting the main AquaThruster™ power cable.

360

Oscillator Cord

Choose an oscillator-cord wrap option when protecting the separate power cable used by the 360 oscillator.

Length

Match Cord Length

Common configurations include 50 ft., 100 ft., 150 ft. and 200 ft. Select a wrap length appropriate for the cord being protected.

Nexa 360 owners may have two cords to protect.

The AquaThruster™ motor and Nexa 360 oscillator/controller use separate power cords. If you want protection on both cables, select the appropriate wrap for each cord.

Already have an installed AquaThruster™?

The split-wrap design means the protective sleeve can be added around an existing power cord without removing factory plugs or feeding the entire cable through a closed tube.

Installation & Use

Split-Wrap Installation

How to Install AquaThruster™ Protective Cord Wrap

The lateral split design allows the sleeve to be installed around the existing power cable instead of threading the complete cable through the wrap.

1

Confirm the Correct Option

Verify that the wrap matches the AquaThruster™ motor or oscillator cord and the cord length you intend to protect.

2

Inspect the Cord

Before covering the cable, inspect the AquaThruster™ power cord for existing damage and address any electrical or cord issues before operation.

3

Open the Split Sleeve

Open the lateral split in the braided wrap and position it around the existing AquaThruster™ cord.

4

Work Along the Cable

Continue wrapping the sleeve around the cord along the section you want protected. There is no need to remove the factory plug.

5

Maintain the Overlap

Allow the overlapping edges to close naturally around the cord so the sleeve remains secure as the cable bends.

6

Check Moving Areas

For oscillator cords, confirm the wrap follows the full programmed movement without binding or interfering with moving components.

7

Route the Cord Safely

Position the protected cable to minimize unnecessary abrasion, pinch points and interference with waterfront equipment.

8

Inspect Periodically

Reopen sections of the split sleeve when needed to inspect the underlying cord and verify the protective wrap remains in good condition.

No need to modify factory plugs.

The wrap opens around the cable, so installation does not require cutting off plugs or permanently changing factory cord ends.

Protective wrap does not replace safe cord routing.

Continue to keep AquaThruster™ power cords away from unnecessary pinch points, sharp hazards and conditions that could damage electrical equipment.

FAQs

Common Buyer Questions

AquaThruster™ Protective Cord Wrap FAQs

Answers to common questions about compatibility, installation, protection and use.

What does AquaThruster™ Protective Cord Wrap protect against?

It adds a protective braided layer around the power cord to help reduce direct abrasion from rock, sand, dock edges, sharp debris, critters and repeated environmental wear around a shoreline installation.

Can I use the wrap on both an AquaThruster™ motor cord and oscillator cord?

Yes. The product is designed for AquaThruster™ motor and 360 oscillator power cords. Select the correct product option for the type and length of cable you want to protect.

Do I have to remove the plug to install the Cord Wrap?

No. The lateral split allows the sleeve to open around the existing power cable, so factory plugs do not need to be removed and the entire cable does not have to be fed through a closed tube.

Will the Cord Wrap interfere with my AquaThruster™ oscillator?

The semi-rigid 10 mil PET braid is designed to remain flexible enough for the tight turns and movement of a 360-degree oscillator. After installation, always confirm the cable and wrap move freely through the full programmed range.

How does the wrap stay closed around the power cord?

The split braided sleeve uses approximately 25% edge overlap. This helps the sleeve remain closed around the cable while still allowing it to open for installation and future inspection.

Do I need tape, hook-and-loop or zip ties along the cord?

The product is designed as a self-closing split sleeve and does not require a full-length tape, hook-and-loop or separate-fastener closure for normal installation.

Is the Protective Cord Wrap UV resistant?

Yes. The braided construction is UV resistant and designed for seasonal outdoor and waterfront exposure.

Can I inspect the power cord after the wrap is installed?

Yes. Because the sleeve is split, sections can be reopened to inspect or access the underlying cable without removing the entire protection system.

What length Cord Wrap should I buy?

Choose the option that matches the AquaThruster™ motor or oscillator cord you are protecting. Common configurations include 50 ft., 100 ft., 150 ft. and 200 ft.

Can I use MagnaClips with a cord that has Protective Cord Wrap installed?

Yes, when the wrapped cord remains within the MagnaClip holder's usable cord capacity. Protective Cord Wrap protects the cable from abrasion, while MagnaClips can help route and organize compatible cords along dock framing.
