FAQs
It’s designed for aluminum surfaces—such as pontoon tubes, dock uprights, trailer frames—but it also works on fiberglass, brass, copper and stainless steel.
The kit includes: ½ gallon of aluminum cleaner, a trigger sprayer, 32 oz of protective clear‑coat, and a 3‑inch foam applicator.
It removes oxidation, waterline stains, lime deposits, scum and marine‑type deposits.
After cleaning you apply the Clear‑Coat to provide a protective barrier against corrosion, UV rays and future staining. The Clear-Coat will not chip, crack or peel.
No, it’s designed for DIY use. Clean with the spray‑on cleaner, hose off, allow to dry, then apply the Clear‑Coat with foam applicator or spray. Surface must be clean and dry.
Yes — though you’ll want to apply when surfaces are dry and free of wet residue. You may need to remove any floating dock/deck hardware or clean around joints. The underside or water‑contact areas should be rinsed thoroughly.
Yes — ensure the aluminum surface is free from heavy corrosion, loose flakes, or deep pitting. Also be sure to rinse off sand, grit, or chemicals. It’s best applied in good weather, moderate temperature and away from direct heavy sunlight for best curing of the Clear‑Coat.
The kit includes two tools:
- Applying the clear‑coat too soon after cleaning, before the surface is fully dry.
- Using the kit on heavily pitted, badly corroded aluminum without first repairing the base surface.
- Skipping the cleaner and applying Clear‑Coat over oxidation—this reduces adhesion.
- Not masking or protecting non‑target surfaces (painted, vinyl, etc) which may be affected by cleaner.
