Where Shore Tech Muck Pellets Work
Lakes
Distribute pellets with a fertilizer spreader attached to the back of the boat.
Shorelines
Sprinkle some pellets around a dock once a month and let them sink into the muck. Month by month the lake bottom cleans up; many customers call them little vacuum cleaners.
Decorative Ponds
A nice way to keep the pond in check and keep muck to a minimum.
Retention Ponds
Retention ponds often become loaded with floating organic matter and muck after a few years. The pellets help balance them out, and also work well in ponds with a lot of road salt. A biologically cleaned pond is a happy pond.
Golf Courses
Runoff, high nutrient loading and leaf and grass waste create muck. Pellets are an easy, affordable way to keep golf course ponds biologically balanced.
Aquaculture
Degrade fish waste that accumulates on the pond bottom, an economical alternative to dredging for fish farmers.

FAQs
Shore Tech Muck Reducer Pellet FAQs
Answers about how the pellets work, dosage, results and safety.
What are these pellets and how do they work?
Dense, slow-release bio-pellets containing Class-1 beneficial bacteria, enzymes, probiotics and bio-vitamins formulated to sink into pond or lake muck. They stimulate existing microbial activity to break down organic sludge, improve water clarity and restore oxygen levels in sediments.
How soon can I expect to see results?
Consistent use when water temperature is above about 50°F can reduce muck by 4–8 inches per month, depending on initial conditions and application consistency.
How do I apply the pellets and what dosage should I follow?
Toss pellets evenly across the target area, ideally every 5–10 inches. Spot treatment: 0.5–1 lb per 1,000 sq ft. Maintenance: 0.25–0.5 lb per 1,000 sq ft. Larger scale (1/4 acre): 6–12.5 lbs for reduction or 2.5–6 lbs for maintenance. Repeat every 2–4 weeks.
Are the pellets safe for wildlife, fish, pets and plants?
Yes. They are biodegradable, non-toxic and formulated to support healthy microbial balance without harming aquatic life. They will not kill living plants or algae.
In which environments are the pellets effective?
Residential ponds, lakes, lagoons, irrigation ponds, retention basins, aquaculture and golf course ponds.
Can these pellets be used instead of dredging?
Yes. They offer a cost-effective alternative, typically 1/10th to 1/20th of the cost of dredging. Long-term use can significantly reduce sludge without disturbing habitat or requiring heavy machinery.
Are there any operating temperature requirements?
Yes. Results are best when water temperatures exceed 50°F. Biological activity drops off below that, so it is best to start applications in late spring or early summer.
Does sediment type or oxygen level affect performance?
Yes. Well-oxygenated, organic-rich muck responds best. Very sandy or low-oxygen bottoms may slow performance; aeration can help accelerate results.
How often should I reapply?
For maintenance, reapply every 2–4 weeks depending on sediment accumulation.
Why choose pellets over tablets or blocks?
Pellets sink faster and disperse more evenly into sludge layers, making them a reliable and economical option for sediment treatment, though tablets can be more targeted.
Can I buy in bulk?
Yes. Bulk discounts are available for orders of 100 lbs or more. Contact us for pricing.

Muck Tablets
I have been using this product for about 4 years. We have a small cove in our property that catches debris and the prevailing wind blows lots of leaves into the cove every fall and over the winter. We work to stay on top of it and every year it has gotten a little better. I usually use one bucket per year and broadcast about 4 times. This year we had tons of methane bulbs start in early spring after first treatment. Its sept now and we can see the lake bed on both sides of cove and water is very clear. I highly recommend this product. You just have to stay after it!!
