Aquatic Weed Harvester

Eco-Harvester | The Aquatic Weed Harvester That Pulls Weeds by the Roots

The Eco-Harvester is an environmentally friendly aquatic plant harvesting machine and the only harvester of its kind that pulls weeds from their roots instead of cutting them like all other aquatic weed harvesters.

It is 95% effective at uprooting almost all types of submersed vegetation, including milfoil, hydrilla, celery/alligator grass, starry stonewort, water chestnut and most other aquatic plants in ponds, lakes, rivers, channels, canals and waterfront property. It requires no technical training and only one person to unload, operate and trailer. Starting at $109,499.00.

  • Pulls lake weeds by the roots, plus cuts and skims (3-in-1)
  • 95% success rate in uprooting aquatic vegetation
  • Harvests up to 1.5 acres per hour
  • Holds up to 4.5 cubic yards of weeds per load
  • True one-person operation from start to finish

Why Pulling Matters

Remove Aquatic Vegetation Instead of Just Cutting It

Unlike conventional weed-cutting harvesters that leave behind floating fragments, often causing further weed proliferation, the Eco-Harvester permanently removes aquatic vegetation. Its innovative design minimizes disruption to lake beds, making it the least invasive mechanical harvesting method available.

It is the most eco-friendly and least invasive method for removing lake weeds, with minimal lake bottom disruption compared to other harvesters, herbicides and algaecides, dredging and dewatering.

  • Pulling vs. cutting means no floaters and a reduced weed population elsewhere
  • No need for chemicals, dredging or herbicides
  • Biomass can be reused as fertilizer and compost

How It Works

How It Works

How the Eco-Harvester Pulls & Skims Aquatic Weeds

Conceptually, it is easy to understand that the Eco-Harvester pulls aquatic vegetation by the roots. How it actually does it is the reason the Eco-Harvester is patent protected.

The main objective in developing the Eco-Harvester was harvesting Eurasian Milfoil, but we were very excited to learn that this unique compact lake weed harvester could pull and remove nearly all kinds of submersed seaweed and aquatic vegetation. If you have not seen the videos of the Eco-Harvester pulling, skimming and collecting aquatic vegetation, floating weed mats and algae blooms, be sure to check the Videos tab.

  1. Pull

The intake reaches down to 4′ to grab and pull lake weeds out by the root system.

  2. Collect

The intake conveyor carries vegetation into the storage bunk, which holds 4.5 cubic yards per load.

  3. Skim

Floating weed mats, surface algae, duckweed and chop-prop floaters are skimmed at 2–3 mph.

  4. Unload

The patented reverse conveyor off-loads from the front or back, reaching 9′ to a dump truck, dump trailer or shoreline.

FAQs

Common Questions

Eco-Harvester FAQs

Answers about operation, logistics, maintenance and warranty.

What makes the Eco-Harvester different from conventional weed cutting harvesters?

Instead of simply cutting weeds at their base, the Eco-Harvester pulls aquatic vegetation by the root system, and also skims floating mats and debris.

What size of water body and what conditions is it effective in?

It is suited for lakes, ponds, rivers, canals and waterfront property. It handles submerged vegetation like milfoil, hydrilla and water chestnut, and floating mats of algae and weed fragments.

How shallow can the Eco-Harvester operate?

The machine can float in as little as 12″ of water. It is typically used in water depths from 2′ to 10′, or wherever aquatic plants can grow.

How many operators are required and how complex is the operation?

It is built for one-person operation from start to finish. No technical training is required.

What kinds of maintenance or running costs should I expect?

Fuel, oil changes, air filter changes, grease zirks and winterization are some of the factors impacting maintenance costs. Any competent small engine mechanic can access and work on the hydraulics.

Can the harvested weeds be reused or do they need disposal?

The machine pulls up vegetation so the biomass can be used as fertilizer and compost.

What kind of logistic support is required for deploying the machine?

You will need a boat launch, a vehicle with 5,000 lb towing capacity, and a location, dump truck or dump trailer for offloading biomass.

What are the environmental benefits compared with dredging or chemicals?

It avoids chemical algaecides and herbicides and their ecological risks. It removes root systems and biomass, reducing nutrient recycling in the lake, with minimal bottom disturbance compared to dredging.

How much does the Eco-Harvester cost?

Starting at $109,499.00. Exact pricing varies with configuration and optional upgrades such as the Kubota diesel engine or cutter-head attachment; it is generally priced at approximately 2/3 the cost of comparable harvesters.

What warranty does it have?

The Eco-Harvester is backed by the industry standard one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

What should I consider before purchase?

Size of the water body, who will operate the Eco-Harvester, storage when not in use, and how to dispose of the harvested biomass.

Can I see it in action?

Yes. Schedule a free product demonstration by calling 877-224-4899, and watch the videos in the Videos tab.
