ShoreTech Industries | Muck Tablets | Muck Reducer & Water Clarifier
ShoreTech Muck Tablets are a next generation muck reducing & water clarifying probiotic tablet for restoration and maintenance of impaired water bodies. This advanced non-toxic probiotic combines scientific research with novel bioengineering, resulting in our most effective lake & pond probiotic product for removing muck and sludge while also improving water clarity starting at the bottom up.
This new tablet formulation features a unique microbial consortia and stimulant package which results in faster digestion of organic matter and improved nutrient removal. The small and dense tablet design makes them both easier to apply and more stable in storage.
IMPROVES CLARITY
Eradicator Plus tablet’s unique formulation and manufacturing process allow them to sink further down into the bottom sediment layer and saturate it with rare earth stimulants and a broad spectrum of natural bacterial cultures. This establishes a healthy microbiota at the water-to-sediment interface that accelerates the digestion of organic matter. The microbiota functions as a biofilter, reducing harmful nutrient loading from both internal and external sources.
30-50% MORE EFFECTIVE
With an expanded range of broad spectrum of natural bacterial cultures and rare earth stimulants, Eradicator Plus Tablets have consistently proven to work on average 30%-50% better & faster than similar forms of muck reducers designed to remove lake and pond muck - including pellets, pucks, and blocks.
EFFECTIVE IN A WIDER VARIETY OF ENVIRONMENTS
Our tablets are packed with a wider variety of strategically chosen bacteria strains making them more effective at stimulating muck reduction and improving water clarity in a larger variety of environments.
STATE-OF-THE-ART MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Our tablets are extremely dense due to a unique formulation and manufacturing process which give them other advantages over other probiotic/bacteria products. They sink down into muck further giving them access to more muck & decaying organic matter thus digesting and reducing more sediment per application. Their density also makes them more shelf stable (longer shelf life).
Independent Tests Prove Muck Tablets Superiority
Figure 1. Optical densities (600 nm) of four bacterial products in filtered pond water over a 7-day period at a treatment of 500 µg/ml. The plotted values are the average of triplicate wells. Error bars indicate the standard error of measurement.
The Results Are In
To begin, bacterial growth testing was conducted by an independent laboratory to evaluate whether spikes in bacterial biomass would occur in pond water, indicating the effectiveness of the product (Figure 1). This was measured by recording optical densities over a seven-day period, with higher optical densities reflecting increased bacterial biomass. The results were remarkable. Of the three leading muck digestion products available online, none produced any additional bacterial biomass in the pond water samples. However, Muck Tablets excelled in this test. Figure 1 clearly demonstrates that Muck Tablets consistently increased bacterial biomass throughout the entire seven days when introduced to the pond water sample.
It’s common for manufacturers, particularly in water garden or decorative pond products, to include sodium chloride (salt) in their sludge reduction tablets or pellets, as it’s inexpensive and easy to mold. Unfortunately, excessive sodium chloride can hinder the growth of both added and native bacteria. Based on the bacterial growth test results (Figure 1), an analysis of the sodium chloride content in these products was necessary.
Figure 2. Percent sodium chloride testing of four commercially sold muck digesting products.
An independent lab tested the salt content of the three leading muck digestion products found online against Muck Tablets (the top choice among lake and pond management professionals). The findings were unsurprising. The same three products that showed zero bacterial growth were found to contain 100% sodium chloride. When applied at recommended rates over time, these products could cause a lake to become brackish, with conductivity exceeding 1,200 µS/cm. In contrast, Muck Tablets contained only 0.2% sodium chloride (Figure 2).
When we combine these two tests, it's clear why Muck Tablets are the #1 preferred muck digestion solution among lake and pond management professionals. This product offers a safer, more efficient alternative, designed specifically to enhance water quality and preserve the natural ecosystem.
APPLICATION | DOSAGE RATES
The tablets are applied by broadcasting the tablets evenly over the surface of the targeted area. They sink to the bottom and rapidly populate the aquatic environment in which they are applied. Eradicator Plus should be applied across the entire surface of a water body for best results. They also excel at targeting shorelines, coves, or similar specific areas prone rapid accumulation of organic matter.
DOSAGE RATES
For Smaller Areas: spot treatments around docks & swim areas or backyard ponds
Use dosage rates below for every 1,000 square feet
Targeted Muck Reduction: 1/2 - 1 lb
Maintenance & Prevention: 1/4 - 1/2 lb
Degradation of floating Debris: 1/4 lb
For Larger Areas:
Per 1/4 acre (10,890 square feet)
Targeted Muck Reduction: 6 - 12.5 lbs
Maintenance & Prevention: 2.5 - 6 lbs
Degradation of floating Debris: 3 - 5 lbs
Do not mix DIRECTLY with algaecides or herbicides: If used in conjunction with algaecide or herbicide, apply pellets after chemical treatment for best results.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry space between 50-80º F. Keep out of direct sunlight and do not store with strong oxidizing agents.

Muck Tablets Worked on My Lake
We had a bad problem with muck that resulted from years of torpedo grass accumulation. After having a professional spray and kill the torpedo grass we were left with a muck layer about 6-8 inches deep. We applied Muck Tablets as directed every two weeks for two months. Saw noticeable improvement in 3-4 weeks, and after two months, I can see the sand for the first time. Florida lake, applied starting in July.

Muck away!
So far so good! I applied my first treatment in June ‘21 and within weeks our mucky bottom formed up in the treated areas. I applied a second round in June ‘22, including expanding to other areas and excited to see the results. Side note - I just bought an occilating aqua thruster (July 1 ‘22), so I’m curious to see the results, along with occasional use of the lake rake.

Muck Tablets
We have been at our campsite for 14 years. Have tried many muck reducing pellets with varying degree of success. This year I saw these tablets. We are right on the lake and this is the first year we have been able to see the bottom from the end of our dock!! The water is much clearer and years of untouched muck is giving way to solid ground. The effects have spread to the public beach on one side of us and our neighbor on the other. Very happy with the results in just 4 months.
