Description
AquaMaster: Unleash the Beauty, Vanquish the Weeds
AquaMaster is a powerful glyphosate herbicide designed to help you maintain a clean and beautiful shoreline and dock area, targeting over 190 different weed species.
The active ingredient, glyphosate, attacks the weed’s enzymes, preventing it from growing and spreading. AquaMaster is easy to use and highly effective on emergent vegetation such as cattails, bulrush and phragmites, helping keep your lake house shoreline and dock area pristine and weed-free.
AquaMaster is the new re-branded name for RoundUp Custom; they are essentially the same product. It is a non-selective, post-emergent herbicide, so apply it only to the plants you want to control.

How AquaMaster Herbicide Works
AquaMaster is applied to the foliage of actively growing weeds. For improved coverage and control, use it with a nonionic surfactant.
Absorption
AquaMaster is applied to the foliage of actively growing weeds, where it is absorbed by the plant.
Penetration
Glyphosate penetrates the leaves and travels throughout the plant’s system, targeting the enzymes responsible for growth.
Enzyme Inhibition
Glyphosate inhibits the enzymes that synthesize tyrosine, tryptophan and phenylalanine, three essential aromatic amino acids.
Weed Death
With its growth process disrupted, the treated weed dies off, leaving a clean, visually appealing shoreline and dock area.
AquaMaster will kill desirable plants if they come into direct contact with the chemical. If you need to spray one plant while keeping others around it, cover the desirable plants to prevent accidental spraying. Always follow label instructions and local regulations.

Application
How to Apply AquaMaster
Equipment: backpack sprayer, pump sprayer or spray rig. Methods: broadcast spray or spot treatment.

This chart assumes a 0.5% AquaMaster mixture, which is 2/3 oz per gallon of water. Adjust your mixture according to the size of your spray tank and the concentration you want to achieve, and always follow product instructions and safety guidelines.
A nonionic surfactant is essential to help the herbicide penetrate the plant’s waxy leaf surfaces. Without it, the product will not be as effective.
Performance & Storage
AquaMaster Performance, Yield & Storage
What to expect after application, and how to store the jug.
| Time to Kill | Effects visible on most annual weeds within 2 to 4 days; most perennial weeds may take a week or longer. Full control may require several treatments. |
|---|---|
| Shelf Life | 1 to 3 years in storage when kept in a cool, dry place, ideally around 68°F to prevent crystallization. |
| Yield | At the higher rate for weed control, trim-and-edge or bareground treatment, each 2.5-gallon container treats approximately 38,000 square feet. |
Watering or heavy rainfall can easily wash the product off treated plants, requiring repeat applications.

FAQs
AquaMaster FAQs
Answers about use, safety, timing and coverage. Always follow the product label.
What is the main difference between AquaMaster and RoundUp Custom?
AquaMaster is the new re-branded name for RoundUp Custom; they are essentially the same product.
Does AquaMaster work on submerged weeds?
No. It only works on emergent vegetation like cattails, bulrush or phragmites. Submerged plants must be treated with a different herbicide like Hydrothol or Navigate.
Is a surfactant required for AquaMaster to be effective?
Yes. A nonionic surfactant is essential to help the herbicide penetrate the plant’s waxy leaf surfaces. Without it, the product will not be as effective.
Can I use this in areas where livestock drink from the pond?
Yes, but wait until the application has dried and follow label restrictions. There are no general grazing or livestock water use restrictions, but always confirm with your local regulations.
How soon can I irrigate from treated water?
Do not irrigate with treated water for at least 2 days unless the label or state regulations say otherwise. Always refer to the AquaMaster label for specific irrigation restrictions.
How long after application does it take to kill weeds?
Initial signs of wilt and yellowing appear in 7–10 days, with full die-off in 2–3 weeks, depending on weather and plant species.
Is this safe to apply near docks or swimming areas?
Yes. Apply to dry plant foliage only. Avoid direct application into the water or overspray into swim zones. Safe once dried.
Does this herbicide have residual soil activity?
No. Glyphosate binds tightly to soil particles and becomes inactive. It only affects plants it contacts directly.
Will it harm plants I want to keep?
It can. AquaMaster is non-selective and post-emergent, so it will kill desirable plants it contacts. Cover nearby plants you want to protect.
What is the shelf life if I don’t use the whole jug?
At least 1–3+ years if stored properly: sealed, out of direct sunlight and above freezing.
How much shoreline area does one 2.5-gallon jug cover?
Coverage depends on weed density. One jug can treat up to 5 acres of shoreline vegetation at standard rates when mixed with water and surfactant; at the higher rate it treats approximately 38,000 square feet.
Are there shipping restrictions?
Yes. AquaMaster cannot ship to AK, CA, CT, HI, IN, MI, NY, OR, RI, SC, VT or WA.
