WeedShear Lake Weed Cutter and Pitch Fork Package: Cut It, Then Scoop It Up
Pair the razor-sharp WeedShear aquatic weed cutter with an ultra-lightweight lake weed pitch fork to cut weeds in a 4 ft wide path and lift the piles off your beach.
The Cutter: this razor-sharp aquatic weed cutter cuts a 4 ft wide path with each pass and includes two 2 ft extensions, a 25 ft leash and a blade sharpener. Other cutting tools such as the Serrated Lake Weed Cutter, T-Weeder or the Weed Razer work okay, but many say that nothing compares to the WeedShear.

- 49" V-shaped stainless steel cutter
- Two 2 ft extensions, 25 ft rope and blade sharpener
- 16" × 12" reinforced fork basket
- Fork holds up to 30 lbs
- Backed by a one-year limited warranty

Toss, Sink, Pull, Then Scoop
Give It a Toss
Throw the WeedShear out toward the weeds using the 25 ft rope or the handle.
Let It Sink
Allow the cutter to sink to the bottom so the blades reach the weeds.
Pull It In
Pull back with a quick jerking motion to cut a path up to 49 inches wide.
Scoop the Piles
Use the pitch fork to lift piles of cut weeds off the beach and away from the water.
Don’t Leave Cut Weeds in the Water
Some states require you to remove cut vegetation from the body of water, so check with your local DNR. It is also wise to remove as much vegetation as possible after cutting.
Stop Fragment Spread
Removing cut weeds prevents spreading through plant fragmentation and seed distribution.
Starve Next Year’s Growth
Decaying vegetation is a food source for next year’s weed growth.
Be a Good Neighbor
You don’t want to be THAT neighbor who lets them float away for someone else to clean up.

FAQs
WeedShear & Pitch Fork Package FAQs
Answers about use, shipping, parts and safety.
Can I use the WeedShear in salt water?
Yes. Simply rinse it with fresh water after each use.
Can I use the WeedShear to cut cattails?
Yes, by hand. It is not suggested to throw it into the cattails with the rope.
Can I add a longer rope?
Yes. Make sure the rope is the same quality as the rope provided. It is suggested not to exceed 50 ft.
What makes the WeedShear different from all the others on the market?
The WeedShear is our flagship product, with a proven track record of 13 years in the industry, backed by a money-back guarantee.
Do you sell replacement blades?
Yes, $99.00 for a set of two replacement blades.
What is included in my WeedShear purchase?
The WeedShear comes with an 11′ handle, blade sharpener, a 25′ rope and protective gloves.
Is there supposed to be an indent above the “V” shaped cutting section?
Yes, your WeedShear is not damaged. The dimple above the blades is part of the design and better allows the blades to cut near the root system of aquatic weeds.
How much will it cost to ship my WeedShear, and how long will it take?
The WeedShear ships for free in the continental US. It is ready to ship and will reach continental US customers within 4 business days.
Do you ship the WeedShear internationally?
Yes. Provide us with the postal code of your shipping address and we can give you a shipping cost estimate and delivery timeline.
Is there a limit to the size of weeds the WeedShear can cut?
Yes. You need to be able to pull the WeedShear by hand using the rope or handle. Do not use an ATV, UTV, etc., as the cutter will not stand up to that amount of force.
How can I clean up the area after cutting?
Consider one of our rakes with a float attachment that lets you skim the surface to retrieve and remove floating weeds. The pitch fork in this package lifts piles off the beach.
How often do you have to sharpen the blades?
Before each use.
What does the WeedShear weigh?
Around 8–9 lbs.
Can I purchase replacement blade covers?
We do not sell replacement blade covers, but a standard foam pool noodle, slit lengthwise and cut to the length of the blade, makes a great replacement cover.
Is the WeedShear safe to use?
Yes, when common-sense guidelines are applied. It contains two razor-sharp blades and should only be used by an adult. Avoid all contact with electric wires, make sure the area is clear of people, wear safety gloves, take care when tossing it, and do not mix alcohol or drugs with its use.
How big an area does the WeedShear cut?
The V-shaped cutter clears a 49", or over 4 foot, path of aquatic weeds with each throw, up to about 30 feet in length per toss.
What depth and distance can it be used at?
It comes with a 25′ cord, so if you can throw it 25′ you can cut that distance. Just allow it to sink to the bottom.
Is there any assembly?
Yes, but it is very easy: snap-on handles and poles for length, and an eye-bolt attachment to tie the rope on. A storage bag is available as an option.
How does the WeedShear work?
A simple three-step process: give it a toss, let it sink, and pull it in with a jerking motion.
What kind of aquatic weeds can the WeedShear cut?
If the weeds have stems and are rooted to the bottom, it will very likely cut them. It cuts most non-woody aquatic plants, including submerged weeds such as hydrilla, curly-leaf pondweed and water milfoil, and emergent plants such as water lily, cattails, bulrush and lily pads.
Does the WeedShear come with a sharpener?
Yes.
Why can’t I pull the weed-cutting tools behind my boat?
The tools are designed to be used manually with a quick jerking motion when pulling back, so they are not effective when pulled behind a boat.
How heavy is the WeedShear, and can I handle it on my own?
It ranges from 6 to 9 pounds depending on which handle you use, and it is designed to be used by a single individual.
Do I have to remove aquatic weeds after cutting them?
Yes. Some states require removal of cut vegetation, so check with your local DNR. Removing it also prevents spread through fragmentation, removes a food source for next year’s growth, and keeps weeds from floating to your neighbors.
How much can the pitch fork carry?
The pitch fork comfortably holds up to 30 lbs of seaweed in its 16" × 12" basket.
What is the WeedShear made of?
The blades are high-quality stainless steel, and the handle is galvanized steel.
Are replacement parts available for WeedShear?
Yes.
Is there a warranty or guarantee on the tools?
All WeedShear products are backed by a one-year limited warranty.
How do I become a dealer?

What state laws apply to controlling aquatic weeds?
Each state has its own laws, so contact your state’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) or Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
